The Grand Opening of Jellies at Hopes Closet is today at 11am! 2555 Soquel Dr. Santa Cruz, CA Hopes Closet is set to host its’ grand opening of Jellies at Hopes Closet on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11:00 am following the major expansion of this organization which began helping children in this county in 2007.... The expansion of Hopes Closet includes its newly acquired storefront, Jellies at Hopes Closet which offers affordable new and gently used childrens clothing, shoes, equipment, blankets, books, toys, puzzles, games and more. Families interested in repurposing and reducing waste while saving money on their rapidly growing children will find shopping at Jellies at Hopes Closet a great experience. As parents and grandparents’ shop, their children and grandchildren can enjoy the play area, reading room, and marvel at the growing schools of fish and jellyfish on the walls (coming soon!). The best part is that every dollar spent at Jellies at Hopes Closet goes directly back into the organization to support the children that Hopes Closet serves in our community. After operating as an unincorporated non-profit for four (4) years, founding Executive Director Stephanie Hendersen and President Donna Odryna incorporated Hopes Closet in October 2011 as a CA Public Benefit 501(c)(3) Corporation. Since that time Hopes Closet has grown to serve more than 3,000 children a year. Many children in Santa Cruz County lack basic necessities. Families are faced with the harsh realities of not having enough resources and need some help to make it through difficult times. Hopes Closet is a clothing bank and more. Volunteers work hundreds of hours each year so that each child in need may receive a Bundle of Hope bag which has enough clothing for a week, including socks, underwear, shoes, books and toys. If needed, equipment such as strollers, car seats, bassinets are also provided. All Bundles of Hope are provided free of cost. The expansion of Hopes Closet will help serve thousands more children and families in need in Santa Cruz County. We look forward to working along side you to impact the lives of these children. It’s GIVING TUESDAY! We at Hopes Closet thank you for your generosity and support during this unprecedented year! We are making a difference! MISSION Hopes Closet of Santa Cruz' mission is to provide new and gently used clothing, blankets, shoes, books, toys and equipment ("Bundles of Hope") to children in need in Santa Cruz County. There are NO eligibility requirements and our services are FREE.... OUR SERVICES Each child receives a "Bundle of Hope" bag which has enough clothing for a week (including socks, underwear, shoes, books & toys). If needed, equipment such as strollers, carseats, bassinets are also provided free of cost.
