Metta was created in 1998 as a part of the merger of Davies Hospital with Sutter Health’s California Pacific Medical Center. Homebridge envisions a future where all home care providers can access career advancement opportunities in the healthcare field of their choice. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is an important first step on the healthcare career ladder, but it is often expensive and inaccessible. . We are honored to be a Spring 2020 Finalist for the The Innovation Fund from our community partners @theworkerslab. Homebridge is developing an employer-led partnership with higher education for an on-the-job credential with job outplacement support for workers ready to move into higher paying jobs.

From Our Executive Director: A Statement of Solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter Movement June 16, 2020 We at Homebridge are a community of caregivers. Both our clients and our workforce share histories of racial injustice, trauma, violence and inequity. We believe in freedom, in dignity and in opportunity. We believe in this moment and in this movement and we stand hand-in-hand, arm-in-arm, side-by-side with you. Black Lives Matter to us and we believe the time has long pas...sed to eradicate police brutality, racial oppression and the white supremacy movement. We hear you and we seek to better honor your anger and your pain. Call on us as your family, for that is what we long to be. Our freedom is inextricably linked to yours, and we passionately believe that not one of us can be free until we all stand together in true equality. In 1987, a group of AIDS Activists brought forth a banner claiming Silence = Death. To be silent is to be complicit in the crime. To remain silent condones the killing. To remain silent prolongs the physical, social and economic denigration of our brothers and sisters, and therefore ourselves. We cannot be silent in this moment, nor can we be silent ever again. Silence = Death. We acknowledge there is a long road ahead of us, and many battles. Again we say that we stand at the ready, in solidarity, welcoming the hard work to be done. And we are here to provide support because we are a community of caregivers. Caring for our fellow human beings who have been denied justice and denied opportunity is what we do, it is why we exist. We commit to opening the eyes and ears of the communities we touch. And so in the next few weeks we will undertake a program of awareness building for all members of the Homebridge workforce intended to deepen understanding of the true, unadulterated history of racial injustice suffered by our Black brothers and sisters, and to learn more about what we can do to create permanent change through the elimination of systemic racism. We will also establish and charter an independent Equity Commission to examine our agency’s culture, our policies and our practices, and ask that they prepare a report back with recommendations on both near and long term goals to help us evolve towards a more just, inclusive and welcoming organization, not just for our workforce but for our clients to whom we are in service. Black Lives Matter to us. We hear you, and we are here with you. Mark Burns Executive Director

Homebridge staff are out and about delivering gifts to clients as part of this year's Homebridge for the Holidays program! Thanks to all our donors and volunteers -- and it's not too late to donate: https://buff.ly/37uJDU2. Happy Holidays!

Homebridge Inc. 25.08.2020

Dear Homebridge Family, Each year for the past four years we’ve been building our vision of a special holiday season event in which our caregivers submit a suggestion for a gift for each of their clients a gift that will be personal and valued in the client’s life. Slippers for a cold floor, blankets and clean sheets for their bed, a tea kettle or a sweater. Each gift is individual, each suggested from the personal knowledge of a caregiver who spends many hours each week in... the client’s home. I invite you to watch a video on our website (https://buff.ly/37uJDU2) that shows clients receiving gifts last season. And then I hope you will join me and the Board of Homebridge in donating, either through that web page or by sending in a check. This is such a simple idea, but one which creates such an important moment of recognition, connection and joy. Thank you for your support, and Happy Holidays! With appreciation, Mark Burns Executive Director
