On behalf of Sr. Alma, the faculty, staff, our HAPAC representatives, along with the Crab 'n Go Chairpersons, Mrs. Ruiz and Mrs. Navarro, we THANK YOU! Our first ever Pick Up & Drive Thru Crab 'n Go fundraiser held March 20th was tremendous fun as well as a delicious success. This was a sold-out event of 159 orders; thanks to our community support, donors and parents who volunteered in the preparation and hosting. Starting at 3 pm, vehicles entered our school grounds and wer...e greeted by Sister Alma with pick-up instructions. All angles of the pick-up process ran smoothly thanks to parent volunteers being "quick on their feet." The cracked and clean crab was provided by California Shellfish Company, juicy grilled chicken from El Pollo Supremo and the mouth-watering garlic noodles was prepared by Joyce and Christian Rillera, who have children in 5th grade and Kinder. Crab 'n Go supporters were given a feast in a bag - crab, chicken, garlic noodles, salad and bread rolls! Based on the feedback we received, everyone was satisfied and enjoyed their meals. Holy Angels School is blessed to have your support. A big appreciation to the 8th grade parent volunteers for their loyalty and dedication before their child(ren) graduate in a few months: Eileen Arceo, Ronda Doyle, America Fong, Imelda Gutierrez, Marlyn Hipolito, Ofelia Navarro, Ruben Rocha, Ed & Mhaysie Ruiz, and Monica Sasaki.

Our school community is very sadden with this news. Deacon Lerny has been a pillar to our parish and school community. He was humble and caring - a very special person to many. We thank you for being a part of lives, Deacon Lerny. Our heartfelt condolences to the Prudenciado family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Join us this Saturday, 3/20/21, for a drive-thru food drive to benefit the North Peninsula Food Pantry & Dining Center of Daly City. We will be collecting non-perishable food donations from 1-3pm at the Colma Community Center (1520 Hillside Blvd).

County of San Mateo - Government is hosting free and easy COVID-19 testing at the Central Courthouse in San Mateo's North Central neighborhood on Friday, Janua...ry 8 from 10 am to 4pm. This testing is free to anyone over 5 years old, whether or not they have symptoms or health insurance, and regardless of immigration status. The test is fast and easy, all participants need to do is swab their mouth. Please make sure not to eat or drink anything for at least 20 minutes before the test. Information will be available in Spanish and English, and we’ll have Spanish speakers on site to assist. We hope this will help make COVID-19 testing more accessible to our most vulnerable communities. Holy Angels School Launches Shoe Collection Drive to Raise Money for Air Purifiers for Every Classroom! Shoe donations will also support micro-enterprises in de...veloping nations and reduce what goes into landfills Colma, CA: Holy Angels School is kicking off a Shoe Drive on October 30, 2020 to raise funds to purchase portable HEPA (high-efficiency particulate) air purifiers for every classroom (preschool to 8th grade). With health conditions improving during a pandemic and San Mateo County staying steadily in the less restrictive orange tier 3, Holy Angels School is making the necessary preparations to safely reopen its doors. Part of those preparation includes keeping the air in the school buildings safe for students and faculty. Steps will be taken to allow for fresh air into the classrooms, like opening windows and doors. As an added precaution, Holy Angels School seeks to outfit every classroom with portable HEPA air purifiers. Health experts say HEPA filter capture 99.97 percent of airborne particles. Costs for these individual air purifiers can easily reach several hundreds of dollars and is not covered by school tuition. Holy Angels School needs support towards this much needed safety measure. The Air Purifier Campaign will earn funds based on the total weight of the shoes collected as Funds2Orgs will purchase all of the donated footwear. Those dollars will benefit the Air Purifier Campaign. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used or new shoes at Holy Angels School. All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise partners in developing nations. Funds2Orgs helps impoverished people start, maintain and grow businesses in countries such as Haiti, Honduras and other nations in Central America and Africa. Proceeds from the shoe sales are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send to her son to law school. We are excited about our shoe drive," said Sr. Alma Amancio OP, School Principal. "We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like donate to us and help those less fortunate become self-sufficient. It’s a win-win for everyone, added Joyce Rillera, Holy Angels Parent Advisory Council (HAPAC) Representative for Kindergarten. By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to the Holy Angels School Shoe Drive, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives.
