Throwback to our 2017 Bonspiel and patch written in emoji!

2020: the year we all play for the Travolta Cup! Fun #CaliforniaCurling story, the Travolta Cup started at the 2012 #SummerBlockbusterBonspiel when an assortment of curlers from NorCal and SoCal who had been eliminated from the spiel wanted to play one more match. We had an open sheet during the finals so we let them have at it. So they gathered 8 players and made a trophy from stuff at the Saturday night banquet table. As the night went on and the silent auction and raffle wound down, one prize was left on the table. No one had entered tickets to win it so it would go unawarded. These items became the prize for the consolation match, a pair of John Travolta DVDs. And thus, the Travolta cup was born, traveling to every California bonspiel, giving everyone an opportunity to play on Sunday!
