Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the most important and influential Civil Rights leaders of all time. During the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, he gave his infamous I Have a Dream speech on the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial. He also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, and in 1965 helped organize the Selma to Montgomery marches to advocate for Black voting rights. But did you know It was almost 20 years after his assassination before the first nation...al Martin Luther King Jr. holiday was observed in January 1986. While there's no shortage of awesome cars you're dying to get your hands on, there is a shortage of qualified professionals who can work on those cars. That's where we come in. Our classrooms feature car bays, lifts, state-of-the-art equipment, tools, automotive diagnostic machines, and more! Plus students get the chance to work side by side with automotive professionals.... Outside of our state-of-the-art garages, students are presented with the opportunity to earn internships with local partners such as Fletcher-Jones Mercedes Benz and South Coast Audi. Plus, they get to enter industry-sponsored competitions where they can flex their knowledge and skills. Recently HSI was featured in the School of Education magazine! Through a Johnson & Johnson Bridge to Employment grant, the School of Education's Center for Education Partnerships is working to improve workforce development and career pathways for underserved youth. Back in June the School of Education's Center for Educational Partnerships received a Bridge to Employment grant from Johnson & Johnson which will help benefit the students of Valley High School & High School Inc. ... Through this unique collaboration, students will be provided a three-year learning experience with wrap-around support that integrates academics, skilled training, and work experience.
