If you or somebody you know lives in the burn out zones for the El Dorado or Apple Fires, please start working on plans to move your animals to safer areas. We encourage removing your livestock and pets from potentially dangerous conditions well before Evacuation Orders are in place. Animals are easiest to move when they are calm and that will give owners plenty of time to prepare trailers and load emergency supplies. If you need help finding a safe location to evacuate your animals to, please contact San Bernardino County Animal Control at (800) 472-5609 or Riverside County Animal Control at (951) 358-7387. Be safe and stay warm out there folks!

You might have noticed that Dr. Buckley has another smiling face riding along this month! This is Courtney, she is a 4th year vet student at Western University of Health Sciences who is interested in mixed animal practice when she graduates in May. We are so happy to have an extra pair of helping hands this month! She will be riding along until the end of January so be sure to say hi if you get the pleasure of meeting her #tallblondevets #vetstudent #vetlife #allcreaturesgreatandsmall @courtney_malonski

We are monitoring an outbreak of Equine Influenza Virus in the Reche Canyon area of Moreno Valley. This virus is specific to horses, ponies, and donkeys and does not affect other livestock (goats, sheep, pigs, cattle, or birds). If you have horses in this area, please contact your veterinarian to get their influenza vaccine boostered if it has been more than 3 months since their last vaccine. Please also avoid visiting this area with your horses and clean clothing and shoes thoroughly if you visit this area on your own. We also recommend avoiding interacting with horses who live in this area as the virus can be spread indirectly on your clothing or shoes. As always, please contact our office if you have any questions at (909) 307-4608
