Join us for Stamp & Stitch where you will learn how to carve two rubber stamps and then you will use them to create your own, unique, hand printed fabric. You’ll also learn how to embellish your prints with hand stitching to make your designs pop! Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of stitching experience, your stitches can be as simple or as complicated as you want. Learn how fun and relaxing it is to sit with pen and paper and doodle in our upcoming doodling class with artist Kieren Dutcher! Are you one of those people who has always wanted to be able to draw, but felt discouraged or didn't know where to start? Are you always on the computer and worried that you're loosing your small motor skills? Do you want an activity that can help calm a restless mind? Doodling can help! Once you've learned a few basic designs, you'll be able to ma...ke up your own patterns and gain confidence in your own creative abilities. This is also a great tool in the free-motion quilter's toolbox. As we tell all of our domestic and longarm quilters - if you can doodle it, then you can quilt it! The Handwork Meetup is tonight, Thursday, October 8 at Cedar Rose Park in Berkeley. Zoomed out? Let's meet in the park and work on our hand stitching projects! Do you like to do handwork? We do, too! Bring your hand stitching project - or any handwork that can be done in your lap and meet us at the park for physically distanced social stitching! You will probably want to bring a chair and it will probably b e chilly, so be prepared with a jacket or blanket.
