Thanks to 1 FUR 1 Foundation Joy was out today for her session. When asked if she wanted to work with a boy or girl she chose and girl. We went through the options for girls and we decided on Tori. Joy was able to point out that her shirt was purple and Tori's halter was purple just like her. Joy was able to complete the obstacle course working on stopping Tori correctly. Super happy she was remembering when we stop we say "ho" she is getting better with walking too. During grooming she was more engaged and only needed a few reminders to have eye on the task. We finished with working on days of the week, writing her name, weather and rolling the dice game to work our body. Joy did amazing with the chickens. She actually helped hold a chicken, touch it and set it down. Yaya.

AJ was a busy boy this afternoon. He worked with Nicholas and a new friend named Nicole. Nicky did really well with grooming despite being distracted. He is remembering the grooming aides and how to to use them. He was easy to redirect once he had a goal in place and something to work for. He was able to share with his brother the different animals and work on sharing, communication skills and more. Nicole was very excited and over stimulated but once she seen the Chickens ...she was able to calm down and relax. She was very interested in touching the wings, tail and just petting them. Sensory and processing each task was abit overwhelming so we worked on just 1 task at a time. During grooming she really seemed to want to engage but was abit distracted and overwhelmed. When given a chance she rubbed and wanted to touch him with her hands. We finished with saying good bye to all the animals and washing hands. Autism is a disability with a wide range of a spectrum to work with. We are so excited to be able to help work with children and adults to help with everyday life skills, communication skills,OT,PT, Sensory issues, self regulation, following directions and instructions and more.

Late post sorry. Brandon was out yesterday for his session with Mr.Chips. he chose him as he felt he needed to give him some attention. We completed the obstacle course groomed him and cleaned his stall. We then collected eggs,, feed piper and played a few rounds of in 10 or less.. Brandon has gained confidence in himself and intern has been able to engage with the animals without letting sensory issues or fear disrupt his love for working with them. I have enjoyed watching him learn and grow.

We were off site today at Therapeutic approach to growth temecula location for individually sessions. B loves pigs so we had 15 mins of time for him to reach and stretch to pet Piper, brush her, learn about her favorite foods and how to get her to lay down. Then we set a goal to walk Piper over to Cowboy then to Cooper and back to his chair big chair. We were able to get half way to cowboy before needing a break. B rested for a few minutes and then we had Cowboy come over for ...some petting and brushing. Then we got him back up and walked Piper over to Cooper for another break. We finished with him taking Piper over to his big chair via being pushed as he was tired. B finished with getting to reach into a zip lock bag to get a few apples for Piper and ask her to sit,up and stay. He loved hearing her eating, snorting and just being around her. B walked alot working on PT goals (his PT is helping him),interacted with all 3 animals, worked on sensory regulation and more. M and J both did well today too. M learned how to correctly lead Piper, how to sit,up,stay and spin. How to come, lay down and stay. Then we worked on leading Cooper correctly, groomed him and worked on her confidence and communicating with him. J was slow with wanting to engage however we gave him a fun task to complete. He was asked to place 1 apple or carrot on the ground then take 2 steps and put another one down. He did that 4 times, then came back with mom and Brianne to lead Piper to each one. He stopped with her and waited for her to finish. Then helped place 2 bows on Coopers mane, took them off and both M and J helped us take the animals to load up. Thank you to our 2 teams for coming and helping to provide a different kind of therapy! Mini Therapy Horse Cooper and Brianne, Chloe and Hugs & Hooves Therapy and Juanita. Love you guys and are so appreciative
