Opal, our 10-year-old Yorkie, had a successful surgery yesterday to remove the polyps and ear canal that had been causing pain and discomfort. It's a more extensive surgery but she did well and is now recovering. She's on pain meds and antibiotics but still has her healthy appetite. Thank you for the well wishes sent her way.

Update on our 14 year old senior Rambo. He needed a dental badly. He had that done and he did great! The doctor said his blood work looked good, his heart is good, he only had his 3 front, lower teeth removed and he also was able to neuter him. Rambo is a healthy senior. He is recovering like a real trooper.

These two sweet seniors are having medical procedures done tomorrow. Opal is having her right ear surgery to remove her ear canal and the polyps that have grown there. Rambo is having dental work done. Please send good thoughts, prayers and well wishes their way tomorrow so that their procedures go smoothly and they can recover quickly. Thank you.

Welcome Moe! Moe is a 7 yr old, male Chihuahua who was rescued from the shelter. This was his 2nd stint at the shelter. He was there in January and again in October. His owner never showed up for him. Poor guy needs a stable home and someone to show him he is wanted. Moe has some typical skin issues found in stray dogs caused by flea infestation. He's on medicated baths which should help clear that up along with flea treatment. Moe is a happy boy who will engage in play w...ith a dog who can coax him. He's fine with other dogs but might warn off a dog if he feels they are invading his safe space. He loves to cuddle and makes a great work companion who will sit next to you while you're working from home. Moe has a cute overbite and is missing some teeth, including his front ones. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Moe will be looking for his new home soon.

Welcome Opal! Opal is a 10 yr old, 12 lb Yorkie mix. It seems as this little Grandma has had a few litters in her life. She was saved from the shelter, listed as medical because of a growth on her head and having no teeth. What wasn't listed was that she has polyps in both ears, one leaking smelly goo, that have completely covered her ear canals (see last pic). She is also not spayed. The growth on her head is a cyst. Opal will need surgery to remove the polyps as it is a c...hronic condition. The surgery is called Total Ear Canal Ablation which means the ear canal and diseased tissue is removed. This will allow for pain free ears and no more polyps. She is currently on antibiotics for the infection in the ear and we are awaiting word from the vet as to when surgery can be done. Aside from that, Opal is a very sweet and mellow dog. She loves to lounge on beds and will get animated when food is involved. She's up front trying to get all the treats at treat time. We're hoping once she's has her surgery, including spay, she can recover and find a family who will love her and give her a home to live out her senior years in comfort. If you would like to contribute towards her much needed surgery, or sponsor part of it, we would greatly appreciate any amount. No amount is too small. Welcome Ruby! Ruby is a 3 yr old, Long Hair Chihuahua who was rescued from the shelter. She was listed as Rescue Only for being fearful, meaning she wasn't available for public adoption. We were able to scoop up this little sweetie who was a little scared at first but warms up quickly once she knows she's safe. She's a budding fashionista, likes to cuddle and loves to eat. We're looking for a foster for Ruby who can help build her confidence. The shelter could not confirm w...hether she is spayed (we think she is not) so she will be heading for a vet visit to determine is she needs surgery. If you can foster Ruby and help her get ready to find her forever family please contact us at 951-708-0626 or email us [email protected] for more information. #adoptdontshop #savealife #adoptaseniordog #fosterdog #shelterdog #rescueismyfavoritebreed #heartandhomeanimalrescuefoundation #adoptable #dogsofinsta #dogsoflosangeles #dogsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #adoptdontshop #savealife #shelterdog #petfinder #longhaiirchihuahua #lhchichuahua #chihuahua #spanielmix

Our 3 black kittens are turning 5 months! These little ladies are ready to look for their forever homes. All are up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. Astrid is calm and cuddly. She is more vocal and will meow for attention. A little shy to new people but warms up once you start petting her. Is playful with her sisters. She is on the thinner side so we are trying to fatten her up a bit. Nova is also calm and cuddly. Loves to sit on laps or shoulders to get pets. She... also loves to play with her sisters. Stella loves new people and has very little fear. She runs to the front door to see who’s coming in. She loves to play all the time. If you would like to inquire more on these beauties, please email us at [email protected]. #fostersavelives #fosteranimals #adoptablecats #adopablecatsofinstagram #fostercats #adoptdontshop #adoptacatsavealife #kittens #cats #adoptacat #catsforadoption #fostercatsofinstagram #adoptatabby #petfinder #blackkittensofinstagram #tabby #catlovers #catsofinstagram #kittens #kitten #blackkitchen

We are so sad to announce that we had to say farewell to Fraser. His body was too weak and not fighting anymore. His doctor agreed it was time to let him go. The meningitis would not let up and the secondary infection did not help. He fought hard and we tried hard to help him fight this, but in the end he was too weak to fight any longer. We had him for a short time but we hope he felt the love we had for him. Rest in peace Fraser and run free.
