SHARE: Here is a word cloud from our Healing Addiction group in response to the question: "What is your number one struggle in creating happiness?" FEELING was the largest word cloud, and associated to words like stuck, unfulfilled, helplessness, behind, like I am enough. As evidenced from these associated words, (a great lesson I learned from Rick Hanson, PHD) much of our unhappiness comes from comparing a defined future state to our current state and that almost every tim...e, the future state will win in that comparison. The solution? Be grateful for the now, even in the smallest and simplest things. A smile, a bird...a thank you. -------- Please let us know what your number one struggle in creating happiness is and any lessons you've learned on how to overcome it. You are all amazing and I wish everyone the most joyful holiday season!
Today is Mental Health Day. We have talked a lot about this topic here and with our wonderful guests. One of our guests, close friend, and expert Sherry Walling courageously shares her thoughts and feelings on her brother's suicide...just 5 months ago. I know there are brave, caring, hurt and confused among us who have experienced the loss of a loved one, ongoing personal struggles with mental health, addiction and on...... Take courage, forgive, seek community and offer love. Sherry is an example of all this and more for so many, and I know you are too. God bless you in your personal journeys.
This is such a needed skill these days. I hope some of you will be able to take advantage of this opportunity with our favorite Gabor Maté!
