#MeetTheTeamTuesday Meet Sage, the Coyote. Sage is an old guy, he has been with us since March of 2004! He was raised from a pup by someone that tried to keep him as a pet. The person swiftly learned this was a mistake as Sage began biting and becoming hard to handle. Sage was deemed non-releasable since he was way too used to people. Fun Fact: Sage loves to sun himself, you often find him lazing about in a nice warm spot, especially on his favorite rock. #HaywardRec #SulphurCreekNatureCenter

California King Tides the predictable highest of high tides, while not themselves a result of sea level rise, offer a view of how rising sea levels will impact our future. This Water Wednesday will have information from Water Safety USA: https://www.watersafetyusa.org/water-competency.html. There are three elements of water competency: Basic Swimming Skills, Water Smarts, and Helping Others. Basic swimming skills is one of the three aspects of water competency, but you might not have known being water smart and being able to help others are equally important. Just because someone is an accomplished swimmer does not necessarily make them... water safe. It`s important that children are always supervised by an adult who understands these three elements of water competency when they are in and around the water. #HaywardRec #WaterWednesday
