WRESTLERS! ONE OF THE REASONS TOM BRADY IS A SUCCESSFUL QB Brady must feel protected when he has wrestlers on his line, considering how many Super Bowls he's no...w been in something is working for him. Former wrestler and Patriot Stephen Neal had Brady's back and now former wrestler and Bucs OT Tristan Wirfs is doing the same. They provide him time to throw, not get hit and have allowed him to play for many years. Another good example of why football players should wrestle all four years in high school. This article tells it all. The letter Tristan Wirfs wrote that led to a state wrestling championship Wirfs went on a visit to Iowa City that weekend. You know how Iowa football feels about wrestling. You know how head coach Kirk Ferentz feels about wrestling. Legendary Iowa wrestling coach Dan Gable has been an honorary captain twice for Iowa football games. He talked with the coaches, Truitt said. He talked to the Paulsen twins (from Moville and senior offensive linemen for the Hawkeyes). These guys are all former wrestlers. He got their feedback. They were in the same boat he was in. He came back from that game, I can’t remember which one it was, and he said, ‘I talked with everybody and they all say I have to wrestle. I’m going to regret it if I don’t.’ So, then, a few weeks go by. Wrestling season is nearing. It’s October. Wirfs is a celebrity judge for Mount Vernon’s chili cook-off. Sarah Wirfs would often tell her kids to write down their thoughts to see how they looked on paper. I saw him that day and he said, ‘Hey, did you check your mail?’ I said no, Truitt said. So I went home and checked the mail. He’d written me a letter. It said, ‘You told me four years ago February ’17 would be when the final chapter is written. That’s what we’re going to do. I’ll make it. I’m coming out. We’ll figure out the weight thing,’ Truitt said. He said, ‘I made that promise to you four years ago, I’m going to hold up my end.’ Obviously, it was a pretty awesome ending. One of my friends asked "Why would you pay so much money for your kid to wrestle? Well I have a confession to make; I don't invest the money for my kid to wre...stle. So, if I am not paying for them to wrestle, what am I paying for? - I pay for those moments when my child becomes so tired they want to quit, but doesn't. - I pay for those days when my child comes home from school and is "too tired or too sore" to go to practice, but goes anyway. - I pay for my child to learn to be disciplined, focused, and dedicated. - I pay for my child to learn to take care of their body and their equipment. - I pay for my child to learn to work with others and to be a good team mate, gracious in defeat, and humble in success. - I pay for my child to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don’t get that win they hoped for, but my child goes back week after week giving their best shot. - I pay for my child to learn to make and accomplish goals. - I pay for my child to respect, not only themselves, but other wrestlers, officials and coaches. - I pay for my child to learn that it takes hours and hours, years and years, of hard work and practice to create a champion and that success does not happen overnight. - I pay for my child to be proud of small achievements, and to work towards long term goals. - I pay for the opportunity my child has and will have to make life-long friendships, create lifelong memories, to be as proud of their achievements as I am. - I pay so that my child can be out on the mat instead of in front of a screen... . . . I could go on but, to be short, I don't pay for the matches; I pay for the opportunities that Wrestling provides my child with to develop attributes that will serve my child well throughout their life and give an opportunity to bless the lives of others. From what I have seen so far I think it is a great investment! (Borrowed and Adapted) S H A R E to Inspire Others PC Wrestling Motivation

This is what carries on with you into the future. Do you live with discipline? Do you pursue your best self no matter the circumstances? Life is much bigger than just wrestling for trophies and accolades.

6 Phrases to tell your Wrestles 1. Constantly look to score. Focus on putting points on the board, not winning the match 2. Score the next point. Each moment of... wrestling. 3. Win the battle off the whistle. (top and bottom) 4. Your tie or no tie. Never hang-out in his tie-up. Don’t hang-out in your tie-up either. 5. Move him and score. 6. Take the most risks and score the most points. Don’t feel him out.

#Vamosavolveraluchar #MantenteFuerte #MantenteaSalvo #WeWillWrestleAgain #StayStrong #StaySafe

Remember that your journey as a wrestler is about who you will become through the discipline. Every year is an opportunity to learn about yourself and the world around you. You’ll be grateful for the lessons it taught and not as much about the trophies you collected.
