We drove to New York City by way of Connecticut. We started at 30 Rock (Rockefeller Center) and then went to St. Patrick’s cathedral. We walked over to the New York Public Library and we were able take a look around, what a beautiful building. We looked around at The Empire State Building the observation deck. We have made it to the hotel and are ready for a restful night. @ NYPL The New York Public Library

The students fit right in as we toured Harvard. Then we were off to the U.S.S Constitution. When we returned to the bus, we met a very nice National Park Ranger who kindly posed for a picture with us on the bus. @ Harvard University

We learned about the beginning of the Revolutionary War while standing on the Lexington Green. Then visited the Minute Man National Historic Park at the Old North Bridge near Concord. We saw where Emerson, Hawthorne and Thoreau lived and wrote. Then we took a tour of Louisa May Alcott’s home. We learned so much, we are off to Harvard. @ Old North Bridge

We had an action packed day! Started and ended our tour at Quincy Market. We walked a large part of the Freedom Trail and saw and learned about many historic places. The site of the Boston Massacre, a cemetery where John Adams and the 5 people killed in the massacre are buried. We visited Boston Public Gardens and walked across the smallest suspension bridge. We stopped by the ducklings of Make way for ducklings and they were sporting little bonnets. The adults all took a break at Cheers and then it was off to the Boston Science Museum. We wrapped up our very long day by seeing a piece of the Berlin Wall, Paul Revers house and anyone that wanted to, got to try cannoli. Time for bed so we are well rested for another day on the go. @ Boston, Massachusetts

We are just under 12 miles away now and although Friday traffic may slow us down we will be there soon. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week possible for these students, from Ms. Monica and Miss Tyler with all the planning to Mrs. Pfeifer, Mrs. O’Hara and Mr. Stewart who walked away from their families and daily routines to escort these great students. #hawardenhillsacademy @ Perris, California
