Dear friend of Hartnell College, How are you doing? Today, we find ourselves dealing with Covid-19 and its overlay with the major wildfires that have profoundly impacted our regional community. This is a lot to deal with, and we are thinking of each and every one of you, your families and friends. Please let me know if I can be of any help. No matter if the situation is too small or large. And, of course, we continue to welcome your questions, feedback and ideas.... One of life’s enduring lessons is that adversity brings out most often the very best in people, including helping one another in ways we could not have imagined. We have been honored by what so many have done during this crisis to protect, assist and educate our students and those in our K-12 public schools. What will your legacy be? Visit: https://hartnell.giftlegacy.com/ to learn more about leaving your legacy through Planned Giving or to become a Legacy member. Please contact me, Jackie Cruz, at [email protected] with any questions.

Closure of Hartnell campuses due to COVID-19 has not deterred The Western Stage from preparing to present shows originally scheduled for 2020. Actors, directors and designers are busy working virtually. Rather than cancel any of the six planned productions, the Hartnell-based company has changed its licensing agreements to produce all the titles in 2021, with undetermined performance dates. Help Keep Our Students Learning. Our students need laptops and hot spots in order to participate in online learning during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Did you know? Less than 10% of our students have ever taken an online course prior to Hartnell Colleges transition to online learning. In fact, nearly 2,000 of our students don’t have personal access to a computer or a tablet. Many students do not have access to the internet in their place of residence. These students have always... relied entirely on the computers and technology provided on our campus in order to succeed. We urgently need your emergency support to keep our students enrolled, engaged, and working towards their academic goals, today, through the summer, and as long as it takes to return to classroom-based learning. Hartnell College and the Foundation have already purchased 500 laptops for students in need. We need at least another 1,500 computers. We also need to provide hot spots and service for students who do not have internet access in their homes. Learn more about how you can help on our GoFundMe page https://charity.gofundme.com/o/en/campaign/hartnellcovid19
