After many conversations with Lake County Public Health, we have developed a plan to re-open the Middletown store tomorrow August 2nd. We are confident the individuals who tested positive for Covid-19 were exposed outside of Hardester’s. Out of an abundance of caution, Public Health has helped us determine which of our remaining employees should be isolated and tested for the virus. We are appreciative of these valued employees and ask that their privacy be respected. Additio...nally, today we had West Coast Fire and Water, a company that has cleaned many grocery stores over the past few months, sanitize the entire Middletown store. The process includes disinfecting both air space and highly touched surfaces. Thank you for your patience and understanding

Last night we were notified that two of our Middletown staff members, (same household) tested positive for Covid-19. At this point, it doesn’t appear to be work related. We have made the decision to temporarily close our Middletown store while we follow the necessary protocols to safely re-open. We contacted the Lake County health department last night and appreciate their quick response. We have had multiple email communications with them in the last few months in preparatio...n for this type of situation. We appreciate your patience as we navigate this with as much transparency, as possible, while also protecting the medical privacy of our affected staff. The Hidden Valley and Cobb stores remain open.

As we celebrate the 4th of July, we are thankful for those before us that sacrificed so much for our Country. We as a community have been through some tough times the last few of years. We will never forget those from outside of our communities that rallied behind our town ,and those within ,that worked side by side with each other , as our community recovered from devastation. Although we all have differing thoughts and opinions, maybe it is time find ways to do our part to unite our community as we navigate our current public health challenge. Looking for the good in others, a friendly wave ,or a small act of kindness this weekend could go a long way.
