I’ve been studying the beauty of quietude.. well, trying to find it, tucked among all the other emotions. But here was a lovely surprise - the line and shadow of Shelley Spira Burns’ stoneware against a white wall when the afternoon window light comes in just so. Shelley has such a nuanced expression of shape and texture.. I have her piece displayed on a burl table because I love the meeting of coolness and warmth, glacial and earthy.
