TEENAGE DRIVERS- ADVICE FOR PARENTS Hello everyone, I wanted to address the topic of teenage drivers and give some feedback on how you can eliminate some of the pain points you experience when that Day arrives.... To support parents with young drivers, we've got to look beyond premiums. Adding a teen driver has long been a pain point for parents particularly when it comes to premiums, which are considerably more expensive for these young drivers. As an agent, there's not much we can do about that, because the higher cost reflects the increased risk. But there is more than just pricing; you are also worried about the safety of your young drivers. I want to help alleviate that pain point in another way by offering advice and tools that can encourage safe driving. There is a little help out there. A great new tool I recommend is the free AT&T DriveMode app for iPhone and Android, which helps minimize distractions to help teens become better drivers. The app includes features such as blocking smartphone notifications, calls and texting while a teen is driving. It can also send alerts to parents if the app is turned off or features are disabled. (DriveMode is available for customers of all mobile carriers, though features may vary based on carrier.)
