Many of the 1 in 5 people with a mental health condition respond to treatment. But not everybody achieves wellness with the current medications and therapies available. We need more research to better understand the brain so we can identify mental health conditions sooner and find additional mental health treatments and therapeutic interventions. This week, key committees in the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate are having hearings about future funding for the National Institutes of Health, which includes the National Institute of Mental Health. Your members of Congress need to hear that we need more research for mental health.
