Many of our summer gardens were put to rest by the frosty mornings we’ve experienced the past few nights across the county. The zinnias, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant in our home gardens may be done for the year, but that makes room for our winter gardens!... In looking forward to the next season we have vegetable starts that can tolerate the cold weather to come. We are preparing the farm for the coming cold months. We’ve planted our garlic, ranunculus and other overwintering crops. We have our winter squash harvested and cured. We’ve begun our planning for the next growing season it always amazes me how quickly Spring turns to Summer turns to Fall and we prepare again to do it all next year. Many of our customers are beginning to ask if we will be open during the Winter (which is still 2 months away!). Yes! We are open year-round...! As the seasons change, so does our produce offering, but we plan to have yummy fresh produce all year! Broomcorn Native to central Africa originally, broomcorn has been used for making brooms since the Dark Ages, hence the name! We find that it is very festive as Fall décor! We grow it here for our bouquets and also sell it in tall bundles of 10 stems for $9 as shown on the front porch scene below. Call to order or pick it up when you come by to shop Thursday! Sometimes I just can’t even believe how sweet babies are. Found this little mouse bopping along in the parking lot! Has to be smaller than a quarter!
