We wanted to kick off #NationalLibraryWeek with an appreciation post for our Herrick Community Health Care Library staff! From health fairs and holiday celebrations to how they keep our community connected to essential resources, we are thankful they are part of our team!

What is public health? Why do people choose to major in it? We asked Tatyana Basulto from San Diego State University to share her story that unveiled a world of curiosity and awareness. Tatyana is also involved with SDSU PHI, aimed to promote health, sanitation, access to education, and clean water in Ensenada and San Diego alike through community service and public outreach.

Our GHD Health Career Pathways students are continuing to learn despite not being in the classroom in engaging ways! Check out Annika's story (from Valhalla High School) of what she's learning & how she's applying it to the outside world:

Champions For Health is still traveling all around East County with Azusa Pacific University nurses, providing free drive-through and walk-up clinics near you. Last Saturday they were at Jamul Elementary School, and today they’ll be at Grossmont College with their nursing students from 11am to 2pm. Had a lot of fun this morning touring the sim labs at the Grossmont Union High School District's Health Occupations Center (HOC) in Santee, which is open to students! Simulation training for future healthcare workers is now more important than ever, offering responsive technology to practice real-life medicine during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
