This Sunday the children will be joining us in what we call our family service. We intentionally incorporate the kids once a month to be mindful that the body of Christ is intergenerational. PS. We love hearing the kids praises and expressions of gratitude in our gatherings!

"Teach us how to pray." Jesus answers his disciples request with this short prayer; Matthew 6:7-13 (The Message) Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what’s best... as above, so below. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! Yes. Yes. Yes. Prayer according to Jesus was all about a relationship with God. Prayer can be intimidating but if we change our view from a wish list to a conversation with the Devine who longs to be involved in the everyday messiness of life, we can experience a more full version of prayer. Much like a dinner date or coffee with a close friend, carve out time to intentionally listen and speak to God and see what begins to happen in the relationship. See more

Sunday we spoke about possessions and God and how deeply connected the two can be. How we view money and our stuff impacts our lives to either live free or tied up by the stuff we own. In the sermon on the mount Jesus speaks to how restrictive life can be when we try to stake our life on material things. If living free is something you desire we want to give you some resources to help you in that journey. A link to a page we trust is available in our bio. #lifetothefull

If you were suddenly given millions of dollars, how would you spend it? What work would do? Where would you live? Last question: Do you own your possessions or do your possessions own you? How do we know if they do? #lifetothefull #oceanside #peace

Kintsugi pottery golden repair is a Japanese practice which mends broken pots with gold or silver so that that resulting pot is more beautiful than the one that broke. We just posted this weeks worship and teaching on a passage in Matthew 5:43-48 on loving our enemies. See what #kintsugi and love for our enemies have in common.

God is not a man God is not a white man God is not a man sitting on a cloud God cannot be bought God will not be boxed in... God will not be owned by religion But God is love, God is love, and He loves everyone God is love, God is love, and He loves everyone (*Song Lyrics by Gungor) . . You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, ‘You shall not murder’; and ‘whoever murders shall be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be liable to judgment; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, ‘You fool,’ you will be liable to the hell of fire. So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift. Come to terms quickly with your accuser while you are on the way to court with him, or your accuser may hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you will be thrown into prison. Truly I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the last penny. Matthew 5:21-26 . . Questions to wrestle with that Karisa raised; What is the spirit of the law to which God’s people are bound? What is the full magnitude of the law, and what are its limitations? #loveyourneighbor Weekend sermon video and podcast is posted on the website and iTunes. Journey with us. See more

Have you ever gotten a traffic ticket? Weekend vibes are here and we posted the online service (Nate shares about his experience running a red light). This week is about how we don’t live under the law and commands but in Christ, as the fulfillment of the law, they help guide us to living a more whole and restored relationship with one another and the divine. What’s your most expensive traffic ticket? #lawandtheprophets #alifegivingcommunity

Picnic & Prayer on the lawn at the church. 11:30am. Bring your lunch and something to sit on and we will provide the shade and prayer guide. Great time to catch up a bit and center around Jesus! . . This week we dig into part two of the #beatitudes and here are some modern interpretations to help guide us. .... . 4. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness = blessed are those who want more for this world, who want justice and mercy and kindness and truth in this world. 5. Blessed are the merciful = blessed are those who are not eager to condemn the people of this world, who assume the best, seek to understand and are quick to forgive. 6. Blessed are the pure in heart = blessed are the people who have not been corrupted by this world, who can still see beauty and whose hearts incline toward that which is right, loving and good. 7. Blessed are the peacemakers = blessed are those who seek reconciliation between God and man, and between friends and neighbors. 8. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake = blessed are those who will push through some suffering and bear a little shame in order to pursue the Kingdom of God on earth for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Icebergs. There’s so much more than what we see on the surface. Our current teaching series is on the sermon on the mount and in Jesus’ teaching we see he speaks directly to what matters most by helping his listeners see that the outward actions start with an inward transformation. . . Last week we started in Matthew chapter 5 with beatitudes. To recap go back and listen to our podcast or find the link on our website. A Pastor by the name Paul Carter put it this way to help ...us dig a little further... . 1. Blessed are the poor in spirit = blessed are those who are lowly, beaten down and disadvantaged in this world. . 2. Blessed are those who mourn = blessed are those who have no hope in this world and who see the brokenness of this world. . 3. Blessed are the meek = blessed are those who don’t push back and who don’t strive, cheat and scheme to succeed in this world. #alifegivingcommunity See more

Picnic & Prayer + New series on the sermon on the Mount. Fact; What you see on the surface of an iceberg is only 1/7th of the actual structure. The majority and arguably the most important part isn’t seen. This week we start looking at Jesus’ talk on what is most important. The thing beneath the thing. . . *Online service is posted. Check the link or home page on our website. .... . For those who feel healthy and willing to gather we are offering Picnic & Prayer on the grass at church at 11:30am. . Bring your lunch and we will spend some time in prayer for each other and our community. . . #grace #alifegivingcommunity See more

Part three; Looking Outward. Who are you sitting at the table with? We are all invited to the meal table and we learn more about each other through shared meals. The early church as we read in Acts 2:46-47 knew how powerful shared meal times are and lives were transformed as a result of eating together and serving one another. What happens around shared meal times in your experience? Share in the comments below. We would love to hear. The message is posted on our website and on our podcast. Link in bio if you want to journey further with us. #alifegivingcommunity #corevalues #grace

Step two, we look inward. The interior life becoming perpetually transformed into Christ likeness then impacts the outward actions of life. . . Join us for #picnic&prayer on the church lawn this Sunday and next (June 21st & 28th) at 11:30am .... . If you missed last weeks teaching by @karisamay go back have a listen on our podcast or a view on on our YouTube channel before digging into this weeks lesson. . Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. See more
