You might remember last summer/fall when Heidi Drew and Kristi Anderson organized a soccer gear drive for Africa. Some of our boxes were delivered and some delayed (it’s tricky shipping that far)! Layered in with the shipping, our friends in Zambia had to leave quickly when Covid hit and as a result the last six or so boxes remained stored with their belongings. Last week a member of the family returned and delivered those boxes! You guys...these boys CRIED tears of joy when... they saw the balls and cleats! They had been using rolled up garbage bags for a ball! They will also be sharing the jerseys with 3 different communities so they can play each other. The message sent from Zambia: Our cup runneth over! You’ve filled a huge need and we can’t thank you enough. You’ve made some coaches and athletes in Africa VERY HAPPY! Well done team! Coach Jim Flowers and his B2013 team headed to Arizona last weekend to participate in the 2012 division of the Ahwatukee Classic. Coach Flowers shared, They were fantastic. Started slow due to not having had any games for so long and eked out a 3-2 win. Had a physical battle in second half and came away 4-2. Sunday morning game boys put up a 9-0 W, then a super intense final against Legends 2012. Scored with 10 left to win 1-0. Weather was warm but the boys were so ex...cited to play games!
