Four Tips for Being Your CPA’s Favorite Tax Client! 2020 was a CRAZY year! We are all hoping at Lindstrom Accountancy that 2021 is a little brighter. To help us all prepare for the New Year, here are four tips on how you can be our FAVORITE tax client. 1. Be Organized. It helps us a lot if you organize your tax documents and group items together (such as charitable donations or rental property information) and summarize all information in your tax organizer or an Excel or ...Word document. 2. Submit All Your Info at Once. Submitting your information all at once allows us to work on your return immediately instead of waiting for information to trickle in over a period of weeks or even months. 3. Be Quick to Respond. When we request additional information, be quick to respond so your return doesn’t go to the back of the line. We process a lot of returns every year. If we have 20 clients that bring in complete information while we are waiting for the info we requested, you will experience bigger delays on your completed tax return. 4. Don’t shoot the messenger. If you end up owing a lot in taxes, don’t take out your anger and frustration on our staff. If you think something is wrong or want a more thorough explanation, we are happy to explain why your tax liability is high. We would also be happy to work with you throughout the year doing tax planning to avoid similar situations in the future. We consider it a privilege to help our clients with their tax needs. If you follow the tips we will not only have a great relationship, but also ensure that your returns are the most accurate and efficiently prepared as possible. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please give us a call at 209-451-0428.
