WE'RE BAAAAAAACK! We are all thrilled to be back on campus and in our classrooms with our friends. Although things may look a little different, we are following all of the safety guidelines so we can stay healthy and stay open!

And so it began...not the way we had hoped to start the new school year, but we'll make it a great one nonetheless! We are very grateful for our dedicated teachers who worked tirelessly to create outstanding online programs for all of our students. We can't wait to be back on campus when it is safe to do so. It was so nice to see everyone at our "Meet and Greet" last week! Each teacher met with their families, one at a time, to go over everything they need to know for the start of distance learning classes tomorrow. Our teachers will be providing live and recorded lessons, and will also be available to answer any questions at the end of the day.

While we're busy getting ready to start this school year online, we're also preparing to be back on campus as soon as it's safe to reopen!

CONGRATULATIONS Monique Teague and Nicolas Lazzarini for completing their induction programs and earning their California teaching credentials! We're so blessed to have such dedicated teachers at GSLS!

Governor Newsom issued an order for all schools (both public and private) in Ventura County to start the 2020-2021 school year with online instruction only. This is because our county is on the statewide monitoring list. While we had originally planned to return to school with in person classes, Good Shepherd will follow this directive and will begin school online. We will have a full version of this online plan to you soon. We successfully transitioned to online learn...ing in March. Our teachers have been working over the summer preparing instruction for both in person and online models. We refined our online instructional model taking into consideration concerns from the parent survey in May. We do plan to return to an in person model as soon as it is safe for both students and staff as outlined in the Governor's plan for this return. The Good Shepherd School faculty and staff are busy making plans for the 2020-2021 school year! GSLS will have our regular full day program every day. In order to do this and maintain the 6ft. distance guidelines, we have to cap the number of students in K - 8 at a lower number than usual. We successfully delivered distance learning starting March 16. If we have to do this again during the next school year, please be assured that we have a great program with dedicated teachers. Your student will receive the best education possible under any circumstance. GSLS is the place to be! Some classes are filling up.
