The latest round of closures does not impact dental offices directly or ask us to close. However as you visit us you will still notice some changes. We are still taking high level precautions focusing on disinfecting, control of aerosols and air filtration including: 1. Use of HEPA filters throughout office.... 2. Use of intra oral suctions during procedures to minimize aerosols escaping the mouth . 3. Minimizing traffic to one patient per provider per hour. 4. Thoroughly disinfecting room and office, cleaning everything the patient comes in contact with between patients and sterilizing anything used in procedures. 5. Mandatory mask use 6. Mandatory pre-screening before patient visits including temperature checks of everyone entering our procedures. We want to thank our patients and their families for their patience as we have implemented new protocols to protect our patients and staff. We will be updating protocols per CDC requirements !

COVID Update (Reopening Slowly!) Dear Golden West Dentistry friends, and family, we are happy to let you know that the county has lifted the emergency closure notice for dental offices and we are starting to book appointments again with a few new modifications! We hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and prepared to ease back into a regular routine. There have been a lot of changes since we last saw you. We have strengthened our already stringent procedures to... further protect staff and patients and Dr Penalba is researching the CDC guidelines daily! You may notice some new details before and during treatment designed to limit aerosols and implement social distancing procedures. We have had to move and/ or cancel many appointments. It has been a challenge for our team, but they have worked diligently to manage the schedule. We know you may have a strong desire to get your treatment taken care of, or to continue treatment, so we ask that you please be patient as we move forward to seeing more appointments at the office. For appointments, we will prioritize emergency needs and essential needs before any routine appointments. We may pause observation appointments or may have you do it virtually until we are able to have more patient volume. We will limit the total numbers of patients per day, and we will have strict social distancing procedures in place when we start up again. We will work diligently to make the practice as clean and safe as possible. Please call us if you have any questions about our procedures or to make an appointment. To make appointments more streamlined please call us ahead of your appointment if you need if you need to update your insurance information. We look forward to seeing you! Before you come to the office: Brush teeth at home: Bring your masks: Masks are required when you come to your appointment. Please limit visits to Patient only, if patient is a minor only one parent accompany child. When you arrive at the office: We will take your temperature and have you fill out a COVID-19 screening form You will be rescheduled if: Temperature is over 100.4F; verified with a second thermometer reading. Patient or family appears to have an active cough. You or member of household have been sick or had fever in the past 2 weeks. When you are called into the office: You will be required to wash hands immediately after entering the building. You will need to use antiseptic mouthwash before procedure. Lobby area is completely closed. There will be no inside loitering. Please no drop offs, no patient waiting inside building. You may choose to wait in your car, we are happy to call or text you when we are ready. Please respect social distancing rules set up in office. COVID UPDATE: Preparing to Reopen Dear patients, friends, and family, I hope you are all doing well and that you and your family are blessed with good health. We are ready to get back to work and to serving you! We are waiting to re-open when the County of San Bernardino lifts the emergency closure orders and when we are able to make sure we have access to a steady supply of protective gear. In the meantime our manager and team have been working to make sure the emails are... being read and phone calls returned. Keep on smiling and remember that we are here for anything you need. Governor Newsom has started the process of allowing certain medical procedures but this does not yet include dental practices. We anticipate that the state government and California Dental Association will provide guidance in the coming weeks as we begin the process of opening up. Remember we are still here for you! We want to lend our sympathy with those affected by the COVID-19 Coronavirus. At this time, following the American Dental Association and California Dental Association recommendations we have decided to restrict our services to urgent care and emergency dental treatment for at least 14 days.
