It actually was created when the first Irish immigrants came for the gold rush during the cold San Francisco Summer back in 1849. They would mix Irish whiskey, coffee and a sugar cube together with a cream floater, and then sprinkle little gold flakes for good luck That is the true story of Irish coffee. Here at the Golddust we have them made with real Jamison Irish whiskey and made the old-fashioned way. With a little sprinkle for good luck.
