1. Loose clothing is best. You’ll be a little sensitive after your wax so putting on tight pants after will be uncomfortable. Plus the friction of tight pants on your newly waxed skin may cause some extra sensitivity. 2. Ideally, hair is 1/4-1/2 long. If you normally shave, wait about 10-14 days before your wax to allow time for your hair to grow out. Too long is much more painful, the hair gets tangled in the wax and it hurts more to pull out. And takes much longer. 3. N...GL, it does hurt at least a bit. The first time is always the worst. If you keep it up monthly, the pain is greatly decreased. Everyone says it’s worth it though! 4. You can take some ibuprofen before your appointment if you wish. I do not suggest alcohol before, it can actually make you more sensitive to the pain. If marijuana relaxes you, you can try that, but if it increases your anxiety, don’t. 5. Avoid exercise, swimming, tanning, excessive heat, and sex for about a day after. 6. Exfoliate! In the shower use a loofah or mesh exfoliating glove. There’s also ingrown serums that work very well (coming soon!) 7. I get this. You may be uncomfortable due to size, stretch marks, scars (self harm scars or surgical scars), how hairy you feel you are, the way your labia or any other parts of your body look.
