Midwick Tract Alhambra History 17.11.2020

Here is a picture of the original Midwick Track taken in 1927. The photographer shot this from above Grandview on the hill. It shows The house the Jebbias later... moved into on top of the hill where the present day Lutheran home is. Next to the original Fremont School on the right is our old library building on Fremont. The rarely seen power house for the Pacific Electric Railway Red Car line is the larger building right inside the left edge of the picture. The house in the foreground left side still remains, but has been modified through the years. Click the reference here to zoom into this exceptional photograph from the Huntington Library. http://hdl.huntington.org//coll/p15150coll2/id/4173/rec/15

LA County Lands 1877. Note the 5 mile house location on the El Monte Rd (Valley Blvd) on what is now the El Sereno/Alhambra border. Lagunada Monterey is shown at future location of Garvey and Garfield. See picture in the photo album.
