April 11-17 is Black Maternal Health Week. Black women are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy related complications than Caucasian women. Racial disparities lead to reduced prenatal care interventions and poor maternal/perinatal outcomes. We must continue to fight for equity in maternal healthcare. Six Los Angeles area families received Christmas blessings today from Global Women's Health Promotion in collaboration with @asidacommunityhealth. Each family received a personal delivery which included $200 gift cards, pandemic supplies, self care items as well as new shoes for each child. Our initial goals were greatly increased through our collaboration and donations. Thank you to all who contributed. The families were extremely grateful.
