Dr. Madhavi Dandu, who directs our global health master’s program and is a clinician who cares for hospitalized patients at UCSF, shared exciting news with us: I received my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine today with the most immense sense of gratitude for science, the amazing human beings who worked faster than we thought humanly possible to help protect us all, and all of those who volunteered to get the vaccine before we knew it was safe. Dr. Dandu also shared some res...ources (see links, below) for people to learn more about the COVID-19 vaccines and, especially, to support communities of color who may have justified distrust of vaccines. I feel very strongly that part of my responsibility is to earn the trust of our communities to increase vaccination rates, she said.
