GLFCAM was proud to be a co-commissioner on this series of collaborations between Luci and ten GLFCAM alumni composers (Michael-Thomas Foumai, Nicky Sohn, Akshaya Avril Tucker, Iman Habibi, Nicolas Lell Benavides, Rajna Swaminathan, Kerwin Young, Dustin Carlson, Dave Reminick, and Roger Zare). Nicky Sohn (Composer Fellow Cycle 10) is our featured composer of the month! Here is a beautiful, tender, and passionate piece Lullaby for Those Fast Asleep by Nicky Sohn whose harmonic language may remind you of some moments from Ravel and Debussy. At 04:48, she quotes the opening of a very famous cradle song from Korea.
