Godinez Black and Gold Regiment

After about a month of arranging, student submissions, connectivity issues, and learning how to use Final Cut Pro (poorly), I FINALLY finished this project for my students. NOTE TO ADMINISTRATORS: PLEASE DON'T ASK YOUR MUSIC TEACHERS TO DO THIS! IT TAKES TOO MUCH TIME AND WE'RE NOT ADEQUATELY TRAINED!!! None of this is possible without any of them. These past four years at Godinez have been life-changing, and I owe most of it to the class of 2020. They were my first freshman ...class, and they are my first 4-year class. I thought that this would be a nice way to immortalize them for my memory, and also give them a memento that they can always come back to, especially after how their senior year ended. . This senior class has brought so much light to the instrumental program at Godinez. The first marching band, the first competition, the first color guard, the first competitive drumline, and even the school's first superior rating at festival. Granted, they weren't alone in this, but they are the first class to witness it all, and for that I am grateful that they stuck around. . Last year's drumline did a show about grieving, and it ended with an arrangement of "See You Again". It was one of the first times I saw my Godinez students performing with and showing real and raw emotion, and I knew that these were a special group of humans. Since then, "See You Again" has always had a special place in the hearts of everyone around the program, and it was only fitting that this project involve that song. To the class of 2020: I love and already miss you all. Please stay in my life. . To all GFHS Black and Gold Regiment parents for the 2018-19 school year: We will be having a MANDATORY parent meeting on Thursday, July 19 at 7:00 PM in the band room. A week later, there will be a MANDATORY student meeting on Wednesday, July 25 at 1PM in the band room. Band camp schedule:...
