Fairbanks elementary 5th graders and GEO 10th graders spent the day investigating compost, plant adaptations and seeds. Lots of fun and good eats in the cooking classroom too! Thanks to the Health Ed Council, SACRF and GABY grant for making this possible.
Students that are sophomores, juniors, and seniors from the GEO Academy came together to plant trees on the GHS campus. Thanks to the GEO Academy teacher Lai Tran and the Sacramento tree foundation for directing this project. The students are planting trees to make Grant Union High School an even more beautiful school and to improve the student's learning environment.
The Kid Garden Tours are run by the GEO Academy alumni, seniors and sophomores! The program brings an elementary class from a TRUSD school and teach them about the benefits of having a garden. The students do activities such as planting seeds, composting and identifying plants. The students even get to learn how to cook inside the GEO Kitchen. Thank you to the Health Education Council, GABY Board, and the Sacramento Community Regional Foundation for their funding!
