The coronavirus continues to take its toll on communities across the U.S., creating financial hardships that make putting food on the table a struggle for many. In the past week, we’ve raised an additional $4,600, bringing our total so far to $13,112that’s more than 130,000 meals!

As we move into our final week of the food drive, we have exciting news to report about the donations we’ve already raised. Almost $8500 in 3 weeks. That’s about 102,000 pounds of food for communities across the country!

We are midway through our food drive, and Kindred at Home employees have raised nearly $4,500 for local community food banks across the country! We are so proud to be helping to put food on the tables of those who are food insecure.

There are many things we can do daily to prevent suicidal behavior. Raise awareness, educate about the causes and warning signs for suicide, be aware of the stigma associated with suicide, and show compassion for those in your community. #WSPD National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 800-273-8255

Falls may cause injury and threaten an older person's independence. The good news is, many falls can be prevented. Fall Prevention Month is a good time to take steps to reduce the risk of falling to help keep seniors healthy at home, and out of the hospital.

Our clinicians see firsthand the effects of hunger in our communities. In 2020, Feeding America anticipates 54 million people may face hunger, including more than 18 million children. We feel called, once again, to do our part. September 1st kicks off Kindred at Home’s 16th Annual Food Drive when we’ll collect funds, instead of food, and stretch our dollars into more meals for more people. We hope this will be our most bountiful year yet!
