Happy Tuesday Folks!! Fun Fact: These pretty pearls get harvested (in the cool of the night) and get their tops clipped off while out in the fields, they then cure (sunbathe if you will ) for about 2 weeks keeping them dry and breezy is ideal. As the onions are curing, their necks will gradually wither and the papery skins will tighten around the bulbs (giving it that flaky skin). NOW let me clear something up guys..curing it isn't necessary as eating a fresh onion brings no harm to us but it is necessary to do in order to preserve a longer storage capacity for us and your refrigerator.
