Benda is a young, emerging artist born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. His highly sophisticated metal assemblage sculptures are exhibited exclusively by Gefen Fine Art worldwide. After apprenticing under world renowned artist Joel Amit for a few years, Benda was ready to begin creating his own body of work. His first exhibition was impressive enough to land an international show in San Francisco by Gefen Fine Art. This exhibition focuses on portraiture of cultural icons lik...e Marilyn Monroe, Frida Kahlo and John Lennon. He laser-cuts stainless steel into 10-20 individual pieces, layering them accordingly by welding them together to compose the final portrait. Each piece is hand-painted with car paint and finished with a beautiful coat of enamel. Built to withstand weathering all year round, Benda’s high-quality sculptures can be displayed both indoors and outdoors. His unique approach to assemblage sculpture is bound to set him apart from artists around the world. See more

Joel Amit "How do we conceive the reality we live in? Do we capture the broad image of our surroundings or do we reconstruct it in our minds from an endless amount of particles? In our computerized world, the tangible experience of space and dimension is losing its significance to electronic media. Rather than light and matter, occupying an ever-continuous space, the units which construct the visual reality we absorb are now screen pixels - limited in number and screen size.... Yet, at a dazzling pace, we continue to stretch the boundaries of our digital abilities, creating an augmented reality which is limited only by the borders of human imagination. While through the curse of history man has drawn inspiration from nature and from his own interpretation of it, a new agent is now present in this relationship an it is changing the way we think and create. I see this multi-dimensional relationship with both kinds of realities as an inspiring opportunity. Through the process of combining new technologies with the sensual processing of material in my work, the constructing units of both realities come to the foreground."

Julien Marinetti, artist, painter and sculptor, was born in Paris in 1967. He grew up in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a vibrant Parisian area where arts and crafts went hand in hand, whose excitement and astonishing creativity determined his future life. A relentless artist, he produces thousands of unique works, using a diversity of supports and techniques, and formulates a poetics of the palimpsest.
