Along with the renaming of South Station to Harriet Tubman Way at Gateway at Millbrae Station, Republic is working with NAACP San Mateo Branch to commission an art installation as another tangible reminder of Tubman's contribution to freedom. Two talented Bay Area artists, wire sculptor Kristine Mays and Cheryl Derricotte (whose primary medium is glass), are under consideration. The memorial will be awarded to one artist later this month.
