Happy doctors day to our our two MDs!!! Swipe right to see pics of Dr. Carter and her family and Dr. Diatte and her family. Dr. Carter @doctorladymd founded this practice in 2008. Mother to three teenage boys, married to a brilliant musician @chrispiccomusic, she says she has too many things she enjoys to list. But some things she loves are spending time with her family, gardening and working in the yard, dreaming, listening to music, concerts!, running, skiing and hiking.... She says she cherishes the relationship she’s grown with her patients and community over the years and loves it when the day is done and she can look back on it and think specifically about how she was able to tangibly help someone. Dr. Diatte joined the practice in 2019. Mother to two young girls and married to a physician, she stays very busy. But in her spare time some things she loves to do are play sports, got to sports games, follow her Alabama teams, try new restaurants, write, adventure with her family and play the violin. In her words when asked what she enjoys most about working at Garden, she answered, Building continuity and relationships with the families that I see. I get to see my patients in some of the best and worst times of their lives and I don’t take that lightly. I love to share in the joy when things are going well but I also equally love to create and share safe spaces with my families when things aren’t going as well. With more kids heading back to school in the coming weeks, more request for physicals and paperwork are coming in. If your child is due for their exam, we are happy to schedule with your doctor or nurse practitioner and can complete school physical forms at that time. If you’ve already had your visit but need a form filled out, please remember we need one week turn around time (we can do rush requests within one business day for a fee). As strong as the women next to me our new statement tees on full display today! So thankful for the women (and man! Way to go Elijah!) we get to work with. We haven’t had our normal patient numbers since the pandemic started, but with covid in overdrive on our state, it is getting busier now. This team works hard together, supporting each other, lifting each other up, as we do our best to care for our patients and our community. Our rapid covid testing is back in stock.... Our biofire (respiratory panel including covid-19) supplies have been solid. We’re making sure to get in every kid who needs to be seen in order to avoid urgent cares and ERs if possible. Today was the last day for both our Nurse Practitioner Sara and our interim pediatrician Dr. Cruz-Bracero. PNP Sara joined us in March for a program, we have run now three times, to give new licensed PNPs additional experience and apprenticeship with our experienced doctors and nurse practitioner. She will be moving to be near her family in New Mexico. Despite joining the team during a crazy stressful time for medical practices, Sara was hard-working and adaptable and cared ...for each patient she saw so much. Dr. Cruz-Bracero joined us late summer after completing her pediatric residency for an interim position (covering Dr. Diatte on leave) prior to moving back home to Puerto Rico. She’ll be growing her own practice there and we feel so lucky that she made a little stop with us along the way to her new gig. Her excellent care, warmth, and positivity made her a joy to be around. Both women exemplify this quote. They gave all of themselves each day, eyes still twinkling even at the end of a long shift.
