This great assortment of ten different coasters from Florida artist @elena_ohlander encompass many elements of Eastern mythology, and she changed her materials to suit each piece, opting for metallic paints where appropriate. The great thing about the #CoasterShow is that you don't need to buy a full set - you can select one or more of your favorites, and Elena's pieces have something for almost everyone within a single subset of this super massive exhibition. Hard to believe that it was three years ago today that Ai & Matt attended the opening reception for Ai Honda Kennedy's first museum exhibition at the SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst in Copenhagen, where Ai's Hammershoi bracelet (part of her AdnohiA line) was showcased and purchased for the museum collection as part of a partnership with Shapeways: https://www.coloradoboulevard.net/a-piece-of-pasadena-art-/

When Eddie and Alex Van Halen were kids they wrote their names into the still-wet concrete on the sidewalk in front of a convenience store near the corner of Allen & Villa in Pasadena, right around the corner from the house in which they grew-up (and where they would first rehearse with bassist Michael Anthony and singer David Lee Roth). Fans have turned the whole block into a memorial for Eddie, who passed away this week following a long battle with cancer. The entire city of Pasadena (ourselves inclided) is both saddened and proud.

Many thanks to the LA Weekly for giving us the Art Pick of the Week for the 8th annual #CoasterShow! This weekend we are scheduling visits via Eventbrite with extended hours and days of operation.
