Yesterday at the Senior Center, we celebrated the people who kept the place moving all 2019 and 2020... our amazing, wonderful volunteers! Even though we weren't able to celebrate our volunteers how we usually would (which is typically quite extravagant), we improvised, adapted, and overcame. Our 2021 volunteer appreciation drive-thru went on without a hitch! This year we decided to tie it all in with an Earth day theme and all of our volunteers received thank-you succulents along with their other thank-you items. The City of Fountain Valley could not be more thankful to all of the wonderful volunteers that help to make our community the best and we're looking forward to continuing to work together to make our community even better.

Two weeks ago, the Senior Center staff, accompanied by the City Manager and Councilmembers, hosted a special free carwash for seniors. Seniors waited in a safe, socially distanced manner while they're vehicle was cleaned. It's just another way the City of Fountain Valley is trying to remain engaged and involved with our senior community.

The Fountain Valley Historical Society is hosting a FhotoFest Fundraiser at Heritage Park, 17641 Los Alamos Street in Fountain Valley (behind the library), this Saturday, on Halloween, from 12 pm to 4 pm. The requested $10 donation will go to the Historical Society. The Historical Society is setting up at least 8 (maybe more) photo spots and all will have a fall theme (and some fun kid-level Halloween). Attendance in the park will be regulated for social distancing.
