It’s Mother’s Day week and we’d like to give a shout out to all our fur baby mamas out there, including all the wonderful foster moms! There’s just four more days left of Dogtoberfest, but a life can be changed in just moments, just like Phoebe’s did. Phoebe was listed on a website as a feline to be euthanized for space in two hours. Initially, she was incorrectly labeled as pregnant, so most of her time at a previous facility was spent in maternity away from potential adopters. Eventually she was placed in general population again, but since there were no signs of interest yet, she was scheduled to be eutha...nized as more space was needed for newcomers. The wonderful person that found her reached out to us asking for our help to save her. We were the only organization to respond, and without hesitation we set up a transfer for Phoebe. She was transferred to Friends within hours and made available for adoption. Phoebe is happy, healthy, available for adoption, and a wonderful example of how critical the Transfer and Animal Advocacy Programs are to at-risk shelter animals.
