Friends of Schreder Planetarium 12.01.2021

ear Supporters, Again this year, Friends of Schreder Planetarium will participate in North State Giving Tuesday.... Tuesday on December 1, 2020. Contributions are being accepted NOW and will continue through December 1, 2020. Please join us in supporting this amazing organization by clicking this link: https://www.northstategives.org/PLANETARIUM How your North State Giving Tuesday contribution will be used: SUPPORT OF SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS -- To ensure students have access to the Planetarium’s science education programs, Friends of Schreder Planetarium has committed to providing 50% of the $8.00 price of student tickets. Your $100 donation will pay for a class of 25 students to attend a field trip to the Planetarium. Our goal is to raise $1,500 which would support 375 students. PURCHASE NEW SHOWS -- Funds will help purchase new shows for the Planetarium to use with the new Spitz SciDome digital projector, installed in December of 2019. Updated programs will allow educators to inspire and teach students about our universe while also meeting California science standards. New programming will also encourage attendance at public shows as exciting and current programming will hold the interest of our faithful patrons and engage and intrigue new attendees. With your help, the Schreder Planetarium will continue to be a valued asset for our youth and community members for many years. Testimonial: "Students are awestruck the moment they walk into Schreder Planetarium and it just gets better as they become engaged with the hands-on exhibits, demonstrations, and shows. It's important that all students get these invaluable science experiences, regardless of the hardships their family or school district may be experiencing." Greg Potter, 5th grade teacher at the Redding STEM Academy.
