Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise to 30-45 degrees hotter than the outside temperature in just a short time. Also, with the sun beating on sidewalks all day long, keep in mind that the asphalt may be hot for little paws. Like Doc, pets would rather be on grass than a hot sidewalk. Take a moment to place your hand down on the sidewalk. If it's too hot for your bare hand, it's too hot for little paws. Keep your pets cool, hydrated and make sure they have a shady place to rest.
