A while ago, we brought to the zoo a new species, a Southern Tamandua named Carina. Several months later, the opportunity came to send Carina to the Roger Williams Park Zoo to pair her up with their single male. Although we were sad to see her go, we knew that it was the best for the captive population of the species. We are now happy to share the news that Carina become a mom to the adorable little Franklin who is being very well taken care of by our colleagues at Roger Williams Park Zoo. Just another example of AZA accredited zoos working together to save animals from extinction. @Rogerwilliamsparkzoo #RWPZoo
