Friends Church will open its doors as a temporary staging area and place of comfort to evacuated families who are waiting to return home. Enjoy our Awaken coffee shop, free Wi-Fi, restrooms, and even enjoy a movie with your family in our 2000 seat auditorium (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm). Several times a week I do a prayer walk around my neighborhood. I live in a cul-de-sac where we all know each other, and have block parties and several families are believers who go to church. So I walk, and pray for our neighborhood and the families that don’t know Jesus yet. The other day I met one neighbor while he was walking his dogs and we stopped to chat, and I was able to turn the conversation to a bit of spiritual inquiry. I knew his kids went to Friends Christian Sc...hool, so as we were talking about being shut in at home I asked, Hey, what church were you guys going to before Covid shut everything down? He just looked at me and kind of wrinkled his face and said, Yeah, we don’t go to church. He seemed very discouraged about all the Covid stuff, so now I can be more intentional about encouraging him.
