All three Library locations will serve as official Mail Ballot Drop-Off locations for the 2020 Presidential General Election from Tuesday October 6 through Tuesday November 3. Your signed, sealed and dated voted mail ballot envelope can be dropped off during these hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday On Election Day, Tuesday November 3, hours for dropping off voted mail ballots will be 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. ... Questions regarding the Mail Ballot Drop-Off program should be directed to the County of San Diego Registrar of Voters (858) 565-5800

Below is a link to the obituary for Frank Roseman, a longtime volunteer for the Friends of the Library in so many capacities. Outdoor services will be held at Glen Abbey Memorial Park & Mortuary on Friday, November 20, 2020, at 2:30 pm. The services will also be streamed live with a link available on the obituary page of Glen Abbey Memorial Parks website under Frank Roseman. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial tributes be considered for the Friends of the Chula Vista Library or to the Living Coast Discovery Center. South Chula Vista Branch Manager/Senior Librarian Debbie Taylor is retiring this week on September 24, 2020. As Debbie stated, "I’ve been a part of this library since I started as a volunteer when I was 15 years old. I’ve spent 41 years doing what I absolutely love. It has truly been an honor. It has been such a pleasure working with the Friends over the years to provide fun, educational, quality programming to kids, teens, and adults!" We will miss Debbie and wish her the best in the future.

Sandy Scheller, member of the Friends of the Chula Vista Heritage Museum and South Bay Historical Society has conducted and videotaped a number of interviews with local South Bay people. Her videos can be viewed on her YouTube channel at the link below. Sandy is the curator of the current RUTH Holocaust exhibit at the museum. The museum is located within the Civic Center Library which is closed through the end of the year.
