Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad

March 17, 2020 COVID-19 UPDATE To Members of the Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad... To protect the community and our members, we are postponing all tours, presentations, and our upcoming Annual Dinner Gala. We will continue to monitor guidance from local, national, and world health organizations and officials and will reschedule when it is safe to do so. In the meantime we are continuing to work remotely researching new articles for upcoming newsletters and planning future events. We encourage all of you to continue to support the Friends and renew your Friends membership if you have not done so yet. The Santa Maria Valley Railroad asks that we convey to all of our members and the general public that the railroad continues to fully operate and is making every effort to keep their employees healthy and the trains running. Freight transportation is critical during these trying times and the railroad office and yard facility is closed to everyone except critical train operations personnel and transload personnel. Please do not visit the railroad at this time. The railroad thanks everyone for their cooperation. We encourage all of our members to follow the recommended government guidelines and together we can stem the tide to this situation.

Only one more week to our annual dinner gala! There are still tickets available! We will have great silent auction items again and some live auction items this year!

Our Open House for the Friends of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad is this Saturday! See the progress in the yard and I will being doing a presentation on the railroad at 11:00. If you like to attend please RSVP by today! You must be a Friends member, it not you can join on Saturday.

Our annual Open House at the Santa Maria Valley Railroad's Osburn Yard is Saturday August 18 starting at 11:00 am. Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip and Chicken BBQ at noon for $10.00.
