#VAFresno held its 2nd Annual Veterans Baby Shower on Friday, August 28, at the American Legion Fresno Federal Post 509. The baby shower was a "drive-through" e...vent due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was coordinated by VACCHCS Women's Health, Whole Health and Voluntary Service. The community donated gifts worth nearly $5,000 for the 44 Veteran families scheduled to participate. Families received such items as diaper bags, diapers, wipes, breast pumps, milk storage bags, slings, car seat covers, strollers and more. The Veterans Baby Shower is held annually to honor and support Women Veterans and spread awareness of VA services for those who may be expecting. VA offers comprehensive primary care, prenatal and preconception care, infertility services, and maternity care services to include the first seven days of newborn care.
