It can mean so many different things to different people, depending on your background, experiences, and personal belief systems. SKINCARE IS HEALTHCARE Would you say that skincare is healthcare? I do, and having this mindset has completely changed my life! HOW? Here are 3 reasons why I believe skincare is healthcare:... 1) Your skin acts as a major interface between you and your external environment. With numerous sensory receptors located on its surface, your intelligent skin can alert you of changes in our environment (ie. a drop in temperature, pain, etc) so that you can respond accordingly 2) Your skin is the largest organ of your body and with its microbiome, acts as a protective barrier. Taking good care of your skin -- staying hydrated, moisturizing properly, nourishing it with nutrient rich ingredients and applying SPF regularly -- allows your skin to do its job effectively - that is to protect us from harmful pathogens and foreign invaders! 3) Tending to your skin, especially through slow, conscious beauty rituals can calm an anxious mind and soothe tension in the body. This not only strengthens your mind-body connection and supports mental health, but also activates parasympathetic activity (ie. rest and digest) so you can flow through life with greater ease and awareness What about you?
