Business owners who received the PPP loan this year, the federal government has deemed these monies tax exempt, however, the state of CA has yet to do the same and is currently considering these monies as taxable income! This is not okay! These funds were given/loaned to us to keep our employees employed and not laid off, so they could continue receiving income through a slow season. This loan was a major blessing to our company so let’s hope it doesn’t also turn into a burden by having to pay out precious capital to the state when they aren’t the ones who gave us the relief.
